A Meeting of Minds – Seeing is Believing

The Second Congress of the European Society of Microscope Dentistry was convened in Vilnius, Lithuania from September 16th to September 18th.

I have been to several dedicated Microscope Dentistry meetings and this was as good as they can be. Each time it is a great pleasure to be in the company of colleagues from around the globe who use dental operating microscopes routinely in their professional lives.  Simply put, if you can see it better you can understand it better, you can treat it better and with the imaging potential a microscope allows, you can document and share the information with your patients and colleagues.  For those of us who have adopted this technology in our daily work there is no going back.  This is no longer just about Endodontics. Prosthodontics and Periodontics are equally enhanced by approaching treatments with ‘magnification, illumination and documentation’.

So, there were nearly 300 delegates assembled in Vilnius from 30 different countries with a collective intention to share and learn across the whole span of dental practice.
